Rasnov, was also known as the “Fortress” due to the main occupation of its builders, agriculture.
It is one of the best preserved peasant fortress of Transylvania and was built in 13-14 centuries by the inhabitants of the settlement of the same name, and the main purpose to defend against Tartars  attacks.
