Scarisoara Cave, the largest ice cave in Romania is situated at an altitude of 1165 meters and it’s more than 3,000 years old. The length of the cave is 720 m and with a depth of 105 m. The block of ice has a volume of 75,000 m³ and a thickness of 15 m.
Bear Cave was discovered on September 17, 1975 by accident, when a marble quarry was dynamited, formed a hole through which the first man entered the cave. Here are three galleries: Bears gallery, Emil Racovita gallery and Candles gallery, and 4 rooms: Candles Room, Spaghetti Hall, Emil Racovita Hall, and Bones Hall.
Woman’s Cave, is located in a wild place and it has several entries, was a natural fortress, a point of strength for the people surrounding settlements.
